Biographical Info
I am the Access Services Librarian at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where I serve as both the department chair and head of the library's public services division. From 2022 to 2025, I was an at-large member of the ALA RUSA STARS Executive Committee. I currently collaborate with the Northwest ILL and the Hawaii Library Association, contributing to their conference planning committees. Under my leadership, my department oversees 2.5 million microform items, 90 miles of physical materials, and a growing collection of loanable technology and library resources (approximately 400 items). I also led the department in becoming the first responders for our online chat reference service. I played a key role in introducing Controlled Digital Lending and a Remote Microfilm Viewing ILL service, expanding access to special collections and non-circulating resources. Over the years, I have managed several collection assessment projects and relocations. A highlight of my work is managing access to our rare books and miniature book collections.
